Setting up a support group in Tremough

I will be starting University in September 2010, and I would very much like to get in contact with other survivors of child abuse who relate to my cause, which is to offer support and raise awareness where I can.

I’m interested in setting up an informal support group for abuse survivors whilst at Uni, where members can meet on a regular basis and discuss their experiences and coping strategies, and generally offer support and understanding to others who may have only recently disclosed about their abuse or may not have disclosed at all. Ideally, I would love for our group to become an established student society.

For that I’m going to need members.

With the statistics saying that it’s around 1 in 7 children who are abused, I figure that there will be other people at Uni who know what I’m talking about. So please if you’re a fellow student, get in touch, and maybe we can get the ball rolling on this.
